Application and Relevance
ESI employees are required to maintain currency in this Unit for authorisation/approval to work on ESI Networks.
Electricity Supply Industry workers who undertake the installation and/or maintenance of network infrastructure which requires workers to meet WHS, mobility and mutual aid requirements.
The course covers Skills and knowledge required to perform tower rescue in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment. It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of tower rescue equipment.
Course Content
Topics include but are not limited to:

Assess and control hazards to rescuer, victim and others

Safety systems including fall protection and associated equipment for working at heights.

Fitting, adjusting and anchoring of fall protection and associated equipment.

Course requirements
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a pre-requisite unit of competency for tower rescue course. Students must provide a certified copy or USI transcript showing attainment of this unit to be accepted for enrolment into this course.
Student must provide a valid email address and will receive a link to complete the enrolment process online. Enrolment must be completed prior to attending for training.
Students must provide a UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI number) and ID.
Students are required to complete a Language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) Assessment as part of the enrolment process. This will assist in determining any support you may need to complete the course.
Students must have experience working in the Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) and working at heights.
Students must have reasonable level of physical fitness due to the task requirements of this cour
Re-accreditation:
Participants require refresher training annually in order to maintain satisfactory levels of emergency preparedness and participant competence.
Course Logistics
Number of Participants: 6
Materials and Equipment: All training materials are supplied by Zokal Safety Training. Students are required to wear a hard hat and gloves during practical components of this course. Please bring them with you on the day.
Meals: Full Day Courses – Lunch will be provided and light refreshments will be provided at morning break (only on our premises). Half Day Courses – Light refreshments will be provided at morning break (only on our premises)
Dress: Participants are required to wear clean clothing appropriate for the workplace and covered shoes.
Parking: There is no student parking at our training facility. Please allow additional time to find on street parking.
Assessment Methods
This is a competency-based programme with progressive assessment throughout the course, including demonstration of written and oral questions relating to underpinning knowledge. Please let us know if there are any issues that your Zokal trainer should be aware of. These may include:
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy
- Physical limitations, such as hearing, vision or mobility concerns
- Anything that may affect your experience in the training course
Award Issued
